Summer school : Decolonizing the gaze

Reviving the anti-colonial archives. 

2nd International School of Filmic and Visual Sociology 

Genoa 11th-15th June 2018 
The ARTIVISM researchers lecture and participate in the 2nd International School of Filmic and Visual Sociology in Genoa, Italy, 11th – 15th June 2018. The topic of this year’s summer school is « Decolonizing the gaze. Reviving the anti-colonial archives » and adresses a peculiar kind of historical archive based on visual narratives and documents concerning anti-colonial struggles and movements. Monika Salzbrunn and Raphaela von Weichs lecture the panel « the Politics of Images » together with Donna de Cesare and Sara Guindani.
The School in Visual Sociology is organized in Genoa by the Visual Sociology Lab together with the Faculty of Film Studies and the Global Emergent Media Lab of Concordia University of Montréal, as well as with the Contemporary Art Museum of Villa Croce in Genoa. more…
