Workshop I – Yasumasa Sekine

 

Prof. Yasumasa Sekine is the former president of JASCA, the Japanese Association of Social and Cultural Anthropology. He has lead an important project on Street Anthropology (ストリート人類学) which results are about to be published, including a chapter by Prof. Salzbrunn: パリと東京の都市の路上で共通。芸術、音楽、都市ガーデニングを通じて通りを充当 (Commonality on the urban street in Paris and Tokyo. Appropriating the street through arts, music and urban gardening). During the kick-off workshop, he shared his long-term ethnographic experiences, namely in India and Great Britain, as well as his wide knowledge about street anthropology, performances and graffiti, with the ERC team.
