The 2019 Viareggio’s carnival is characterized by fewer floats directly representing political issues. Bullying, solidarity, women rights, critiques to individualism and social media, (plastic) pollution and migration are the main topics depicted in this year carnival. Yet, few constructions laugh at Italian and American politicians, criticizing populism, megalomania and selfishness.
